Chinese Language Has No Use For Bayelsans, LP Candidate To Gov. Diri

The Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Bayelsa State, Udengs Eradiri, has laughed over the introduction of a Chinese language into the state school curriculum by Governor Douye Diri.

Eradiri’s opinion was standing on the basis that learning a new language was not the issue but how beneficiary is the language going to be for Bayelsans.

He argued that the state of Bayelsa has no first-hand relationship with China either politically, culturally or otherwise which will warrant a student learning Chinese as a language in school.

The former commissioner held that if the Governor was trying to take the route of bilateral openings with China, the Cargo airport which has been abandoned would have been a starting point.

Eradiri therefore argued that deliberate efforts should be made to review the curriculum and introduce globally acceptable trending programmes with endless opportunities and realities.

He pointed to Governor Diri to channel his energy towards Artificial Intelligence, Information and Communication Technology, robotics and agriculture as that is where the world is driving at, therefore such a trend should be inculcated into the growth and development of the state.
