TCN Not NEPA, Supplies 24 Hour Light Abroad — CEO Abdulaziz

West African countries like Togo, Benin, and Niger who will supply power have 24-hour light and they pay for it. These were the words of the Managing Director and CEO of Transmission Company of Nigeria, Sule Abdulaziz.

This comes amid the recent collapse of the Nigeria National Power grid when Abdulaziz appeared on Channels TV Sunday program revealing that not only countries they supply have 24-hour light, but those at home under Band A enjoy 20-22 hour power supply.

The MD made it clear that the collapse system sometimes might not be from TCN but from distributors and other factors as TCN is totally different from NEPA, noting that the new minister of power is trying hard to see Nigerians get constant power supply in less than five years.

Attributing some of the power outages to equipment that have been used for over 50 years, Abdulaziz said despite the hike in electricity tariffs in Nigeria it’s relatively cheaper and affordable unlike places like Senegal, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic.
