Atiku Abubakar has sent a cautionary message to the Federal Government concerning the alarm raised by Peter Obi about his life being threatened. He noted that injustice done to one opposition member is injustice done to all.

He stated that the safety of the ADC presidential candidate is the constitutional responsibility of the government, urging that a democratic system should not be measured by those enjoying government power but by the level of protection afforded to those outside of power.

In parts of the statement released by the NDC presidential candidate’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said, “Nothing must happen to Peter Obi. An injury to one is an injury to all. When one opposition leader is intimidated, every opposition voice is diminished. When one citizen begins to fear because of his political beliefs, democracy itself becomes the casualty.”
