Following the abduction and deaths of retired and serving military generals, the Senate is requesting the Nigerian government to stop rehabilitating repentant terrorists, bandits, and other violent criminals.

The motion, which was sponsored by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Nigerian Army, Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, agreed that justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done to restore public confidence in Nigeria’s criminal justice system.

The lawmakers insisted that criminals and terrorists should be made to face the full wrath of the law immediately rather than being given a soft landing. Furthermore, the attention of President Bola Tinubu will be sought over the nation’s deteriorating state.
