US President Joe Biden Drops Out Of Race

In a heartfelt letter addressed to the People of the United States of America, President Joe Biden announced on Sunday his withdrawal from the presidential race.

Biden’s withdrawal came amid pressure mounted on him by fellow Democrats and more than 30 Congress members who think the fragile state of the 81-year-old sitting president would give way for Donald Trump.

He however backed Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him as the Democratic nominee.

According to a post on X by Biden, he promised to remain in power until the end of his tenure in January 2025 even as he gets ready to address the nation this week.

The post reads “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while I have intended to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote.
