The cargo exchange rate for clearance has been raised by the Central Bank with orders from the Federal government from N783/$ to N952/$

The cargo clearance rate was earlier increased in November from N757/$ to N783/$.

Punch reports that the new rate now reflects on the Nigeria Customs Service portal.

With the new adjustment on the clearance rate, the prices of imported goods which Nigeria practically depends on will escalate in the coming days which might bring untold hardship to many.

This is cause, importers bringing goods through the nation’s seaports will now be paying more as import duty tariffs.
