Police Arrest Gun Factory Manufacturer in Akwa-Ibom

The Akwa-Ibom State Police Command has arrested one David Nse Emmanuel, who is involved in gun-making with his father, Akpan Nse, and brothers, who are at large.

Mr. Akpan Nse and his sons are engaged in the manufacturing of firearms, selling them to criminals in and outside the state, before credible information led to the raiding of the facility.

Briefing newsmen at the Command Headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph O. Eribo, revealed that the quick response from the operatives led to the arrest of one suspect while the others fled.

Items seized at the scene included seven newly made single-barrel guns, five double-barrel guns, one special steel double-trigger pistol, one broken single-barrel gun, a trigger-handle walking stick knife, and numerous iron pipes used in gun barrel construction.

Investigation is ongoing to trace buyers of firearms from the factory and capture the fleeing suspects.
