NPF Distance Self From Personnel Scooping Fuel From Fallen Tanker

In a statement addressing the viral video of uniformed policemen scooping fuel from a fallen petrol tanker, the Nigeria Police Force has distanced itself from such acts.

On Monday, via its X handle, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, clarified that the personnel in the video, wearing camouflage similar to that of Nigeria’s, were from a neighboring Francophone country.

The police insisted that the video was intended to discredit and tarnish the NPF, as the uniformed men in the video were speaking French, not English.

The Force, therefore, insists that information should be well verified before spreading, as the officers were neither Nigerians nor speaking any of the nation’s local languages.
