Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic that left the ECOWAS bloc would soon return as negotiations are ongoing for the Sahel nations to return to their sister community.

These were the words of parliament member of the ECOWAS, Senator Ali Ndume at the ongoing ECOWAS Parliament Extraordinary session taking place in Kano.

Ndume revealed that all needed for the nations to return was in place as the bad blood that led to the decision of Niger to leave the bloc has been drained and the nation is no longer angry with their sister West Africa, especially Nigeria.

He said the committee which he is a part of, is receiving a positive response and very soon they will get back together.

Recall that Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Mali left the bloc after sanctions were placed on them over a military coup in 2020, 2022 and the recent Niger in 2023.
