DSS Releases Godwin Emefiele Hand Him Over To EFCC

Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, has been released from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

A reliable source told the Cable that Emefiele was taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) immediately after his release from DSS.

The former CBN boss has been in DSS custody since June, following his suspension by President Bola Tinubu.

Emefiele who had opted for a plea bargain was first charged with illegal possession of firearms which was withdrawn and later a fresh 20-count charge was filed against him.
