After Four Months, DSS Releases Former EFCC Boss

Former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, boss, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has been released by the Department of State Services, DSS, on Thursday after four months of being in the detention.

Bawa was arrested and detained by the EFCC for undisclosed reasons shortly after he visited President Bola Tinubu, and was released on Wednesday night at around 10 pm.

The former secret police boss’s freedom was made known by the Director, of Public Relations and Strategic Communications of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, on the agency’s X handle.

“DSS confirms release of former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, a few hours ago, today, Oct. 25.”
