Unethical Substandard Medical Laboratories to be Shutdown as MLSCN Flag-off Nationwide Inspection of Medical Labs

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria has flagged off the official nationwide inspection of Medical Laboratories in the country.
Acting Registrar and CEO of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Dr. Donald Ofili, who kicked off the inspection at Motherwell Laboratory in Asaba the Delta State capital alongside a team of experts, noted that the council is taking the step to ensure that laboratories are managed by licensed and qualified medical laboratory scientists and are registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
Ofili while speaking with newsmen at the lab, noted that the council serving as a watchdog in the society to ensure that laboratories practice ethically and professionally, narrated the procedures needed for the exercise as well as the need for the assessment.
He stressed on the need for laboratories to engage in ethical and standard practices in order to save lives warning that those practicing unethically would be shutdown and will face the full weight of the law.
