Two Chinese Firms to Restart Warri, Port Refineries Are Unknown – Atiku Blasts NNPCL

Nigerians should not allow the people who destroyed the refineries in the nation to hide under the guise of partnership with China to rehabilitate the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries.
These were the words of Atiku Abubakar, the former VP, who claims that the two Chinese companies that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited signed contracts with have no proven records of handling the technicalities of the Warri and Port refineries.
Speaking through Phrank Shaibu, his spokesperson, on Friday, Atiku said the partnership is built on secrecy, as Sanjiang Chemical has a legitimate petrochemical link in manufacturing surfactants, ethylene oxide, methanol to olefins, and light hydrocarbon processing, but not crude oil refining, as there is no record showing such, let alone Warri and Port, which are complex.
Regarding the second Chinese firm, Xingcheng (Fuzhou) Industrial Park Operation and Management Co. Ltd., it has no verifiable experience in petroleum engineering, refinery operations, or hydrocarbon processing; what they do is real estate development and construction of buildings.
