Residents in Bomadi and the surrounding areas are tense over what the retaliation of the Nigerian Army will be after a senior officer, Lt.-Col. Josiah, was kidnapped from his lodge in Bomadi.
The Colonel had attended a marriage ceremony during the weekend in the Kpakiama community and afterwards proceeded to lodge at Bomadi, the headquarters council, when, at about 2:30 am on 8th September, kidnappers stormed the lodge.
The place was ransacked, gunshots were fired into the air, phones of other lodgers were taken, and Colonel Josiah was whisked away in the vehicle they came with.
The Joint Task Force and soldiers of the Bomadi Division later found the vehicle used to carry out the operation in the neighboring Tuomo community, which was abandoned by the side of the Tuomo-Ogbobagbene-Tamigbe-Torugbene-Ojobo road.
According to a source, the vehicle has been brought to the military base at Bomadi-Overside while the search is still ongoing in the surrounding communities.
