The House of Representative member, Aliyu Madaki during the plenary moved a motion that the SAMOA Agreement by the Federal government should be placed on hold due to controversies trailing it.

The House therefore called on President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday to pause enforcing the agreement till all contentions are clarified since it has been labeled with LGBTG gay rights which stands against the moral rights of Nigeria.

This SAMOA Agreement is a comprehensive legal framework for the European Union’s relations with 79 countries. This includes 48 African, 16 Caribbean, and 15 Pacific countries.

A Committee on National Planning has been directed by the legislative to carry out an investigation into the agreement within four weeks and report back to the House.
