Following the unlawful arrest of Comrade Joe Ajearo the Nigeria Labour Congress President, the union has released a communique threatening the Federal government to release Ajearo or face the consequences.

In an emergency meeting organized by the National Administrative Council, a public statement was signed by the Deputy President of NLC, Prince Adewale Adeyanju, over the unlawful detention of Ajearo describing it as undemocratic of the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

Also lamenting the hike in pump price, NLC demanded a reversal and release of Ajearo unconditionally before midnight today, Monday.

However, the union agreed to meet with the National Executive Council, NEC, by 9am on Tuesday to take necessary actions if Ajearo was not released.
