DSS Bows To Pressure, Releases Comrade Joe Ajearo

The Nigeria Department of State Security (DSS), at about 11:25pm on Monday bowed to the demands of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and released its President, Joe Ajearo, on administrative bail.

Earlier the National Administrative Council of NLC through the Deputy Prince Adewale Adeyanju had given an ultimatum to the government that Ajearo be released before midnight or face the dire consequences.

The release of Ajearo was made known by the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, in a tweet on his X handle on Monday night.

NLC officials and lawyer Deji Adeyanju also confirmed comrade Ajearo’s release.
