Protesters Demand Restoration of LP Candidates in Bye-Elections

There are dozens of protesters from civil society organizations who have stormed the National Electoral Commission office in Abuja, demanding that Labour Party’s candidates be included in the upcoming nationwide bye-elections.

The organization standing with the Julius Abure-led faction of LP, holding placards with inscriptions such as “INEC, who is using you against LP,” “Mahmood, stop destroying democracy in Nigeria,” and “Tell INEC to obey court orders,” among others, is peacefully demonstrating outside the commission’s premises.
