Presidency Defends Chief of Staff Over Fake Agency

Criticism has surrounded the fake agency, the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), which collected over N1 billion from the federal government in the 2026 budget. Fingers have been pointed at President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, but these claims have been discredited by Joseph Oriowo, a budget analyst.
He described the allegations against the Chief of Staff as baseless, stating that he never collected any N400 million as a bribe from one Adeniyi Adeyemi for the appointment as Director General of PFIPC.
The presidency had earlier described PFIPC, which has an office at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja, as a fake agency that does not exist. Oriowo pointed out that most Nigerians do not understand how the budgetary process works, and there is no way Gbajabiamila could be involved in such a scheme.
