Politicians Who Steal Trillion Should Be Killed Not  N1bn – Sen. Ndume

The controversial death penalty law passed by the Red Chamber for drug traffickers following the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act  Amendment Bill of 2024 has brought out another side of the Chief Whip of the Senate.

In a TV interview granted by Senator Ali Ndume, he was asked why a strong punishment for narcotics and drug traffickers, if such cannot be given to politicians who steal government funds.

Ndume said politicians are corrupt because of the people, since it is people-driven, they steal to share with the people but that should not stop punishment from being melted on one who is caught.

He however revealed that he would support the death penalty for a politician who steals trillions of government funds but not for the one who stole one million or one billion naira.

Adding further the Chief Whip said politicians stealing is to save lives and not like hard drugs that are harmful to humans. “If you steal you will go and share with people or you will not come back in the next four years,” Ndume said.
