Police Seal RSIEC Premises In Rivers State

The building housing Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, has been sealed by the State Police Command over an order given by the Federal High Court.

An order had earlier been given by the court to suspend electoral activities in the state ahead of the LGA election scheduled for October 5, 2024, leading to heavy policemen mounting presence at RSIEC premise.

The order from the Federal High Court states that no security agencies are permitted to provide security at the expected date of the election.
