Police Arrest Three Over Cultism, Robbery Attack In Ughelli

Three suspects terrorizing Ughelli and its environment have been apprehended by the Delta State Police Command at different locations.

One of the suspects arrested in Ughelli on May 24, Emmanuel John Aisewowhion who identified himself as an Aye confraternity member got his gun from another suspect on the run, Goodluck Sakutu.

The arrest of Philips Omomedia, the second suspect was after constant reports of cult activities at the Onogo-Vor community in Ughelli.

Omomedia a member of the Aro-Bagar confraternity is alleged to be involved in various cult killings in the area. On his arrest, one automatic double-barrelled gun with 15 live cartridges was recovered from him.

Whilst on a separate mission along Oputu Road, a community in Orhwhorun community in Udu LGA, Christopher Semede, was caught by hunters on stop and search duty, the motorcycle rider was flagged to stop but he and the passenger refused.

On chasing them, Semede a 33-year-old was caught on the spot with a locally made cut-to-size double-barrelled pistol.

According to DSP Bright Edafe, the PPRO of Delta State Command, the three suspects are presently in custody and will be prosecuted after investigations have been concluded.
