Police Arrest Sapele Man for Killing His Girlfriend

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man, Kelvin Obakpororo, a resident of Sapele, who murdered his girlfriend and the mother of his two children on June 26, 2025.

The late lover, Excellence, was allegedly involved in the hookup business, according to Obakpororo. However, the argument that fateful day was intense, as the deceased carried a knife while the man carried a hammer.

In a confessional statement from Obakpororo, he claimed that he overpowered Excellence and used the hammer to hit her forehead three times, which led to her death. He stated that his intention was not to kill her, but the influence of tramadol took over his sense of reasoning.

According to the PPRO of the State Command, SP Bright Edafe, while disclosing Obakpororo’s arrest on Sunday in Asaba, the suspect will soon be charged in court.
