Youths of Uganda have taken inspiration from neighboring Kenya to protest the government anti policies against citizens.

The move was carried out by Ugandan youths online, asking for a change of government and scandalous public officials who are bent on bringing down the nation.

Dozens of people who joined the anti-corruption rallies in Kampala, Uganda’s capital, were held behind bars on Tuesday while they await court trials.

The protest was initially banned by President Yoweri Museveni, who warned demonstrators that they were playing with fire because the peace of the East African country would not be toiled with.

Lawyers representing some of the detained protesters said over 60 people, including a prominent TV and radio presenter and three young protest leaders, were hurriedly brought before the courts and remanded in custody on charges including being a common nuisance.

Earlier, the police spokesperson of the Nation, Kituuma Rusoke, had given orders to man roadblocks at strategic points while the road to parliament was completely sealed.
