Following the death of the President-General of Okuama community, Pa James Oghoroko, who died in military detention after being arrested on August 18 and 30 along with five others, the people of the community have staged a protest demanding justice.
The protest on Sunday was peaceful; however, it was fueled by anger over the ill-treatment of the military towards the people of Okuama community. A seven-day ultimatum has been given to the Federal Government and the Nigerian Army.
They demanded the unconditional release of the remaining five in custody or face unrest in the River Niger by blocking all access routes.
Okuama protesters called on President Tinubu and the Nigerian Army to give them a breath of fresh air and release the dead body of the PG or prepare for severe consequences.
