Obi Visits Aare Afe Babalola Over Farotimi’s Case

‎Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, who had visited Dele Farotimi, a lawyer and activist who was arrested and detained at the correctional center for defamation of character in his book titled “Nigeria and Its Criminal Judicial System,” also proceeded to see the alleged defamed.

‎On Monday evening, Obi took further steps in visiting the founder of Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, in his office at the campus institution.

‎Farotimi, a strong member of the Obidient movement, was arraigned last week before a magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti.

‎According to sources, Obi’s visit to Babalola is strongly connected to Farotimi’s case in order to resolve the charges filed, and it was made possible by a former president who is a close associate of Aare Afe.

‎Though Farotimi has been granted bail of N50 million with a like sum of surety by the Federal High Court, his team is working towards its realization.
