No Worries, Abuja,Lagos Visa Centers Open — Canada Embassy

The visa application centers of Canada in Abuja and Lagos are open for immigration, refugee and citizenship applications.

This information was made available by the Canadian High Commission in Nigeria.

On Tuesday the embassy had announced suspension of its operations following a fire outbreak at its generator house in the Abuja office on Monday that claimed two lives.

The news of the suspension sent a cold shiver down Nigerians applying for a Canadian visa.

To release the tension on air, a statement posted by the Canadian High Commission on X through its public affairs staff, Demilade Kosemani, says the centers in Lagos and Abuja remain open for the visa application process.

“As we continue to mourn the passing of our dear colleague from the High Commission of Canada in Abuja, please note the following information below:

“Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada clients: processing of applications continues. Regardless of the suspension of operations at the High Commission of Canada in Abuja, the Visa Application Centres in Abuja and Lagos remain open.”
