The nation of Israel has agreed to a four-hour ceasefire each day in the northern Gaza Strip barely a month after war broke out between the Israeli military and Hamas militants.

This development was revealed by the spokesperson of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby said an announcement would be made three hours beforehand.

He said: “We’ve been told by the Israelis that there will be no military operations in these areas throughout the pause and that this process is starting today.”

It will be recalled that the conflict between Israel and Hamas, a Palestinian militant group in the Gaza Strip escalated on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched an invasion in Southern Israel.

About 10,812 Palestinians have been killed in the war in the Gaza Strip since the war began.
