No Body Was Shot In Port Harcourt – Rivers PPRO

A viral video online shows the moment a police officer shot sporadically to scare protesters who stormed the Eleme Secretariat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to demand Local Government Chairmen whose term in office has elapsed to vacate the seat.

The Nigeria police force in the State has debunked the video, that none of its personnel shot any Ijaw youths on Monday during the protest.

Grace Iringe-Koko the Rivers Public Relations Officer said it was a false allegation as police were on ground to maintain peace and order.

Her words contradict that of Ichemanti one of the leaders of Port Harcourt City youths, who said one youths were shot during the sporadic shootings.

The PPRO urged people to stop circulating false information cause they were not there when it occurred.
