Lady Commits Suicide After Vigil In Church

A 500-level student of the Department of Agronomy in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, has been found dead in a tree behind her church premises.

Modupe Ayandare left for a vigil on Sunday at her church but delayed returning till Monday when her body was found dangling on a tree at Onireason Street in the permanent site of the off-campus hostel.

Speaking about the incident, Nigerian Association of Agricultural Students (NAAS), Alake Raphel described Ayandare popularly known as Comrade Modesty passing as a painful loss to all.

Security agencies have been called by the Student Union, NAAS to unravel the cause behind Ayandare committing suicide.

Police spokeswoman of Ondo State, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the death and an investigation has commenced.
