NLC, TUC Embarks on Nationwide Strike, Today

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, have made conclusions with their workers to embark on a nationwide strike from midnight today 13th of November 2023.

The strike is related to the assault melted on NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero in Imo State by the Policemen and thugs allegedly contracted by Governor Hope Uzodinma and other issues relating to salary arrears in the State.

According to a statement signed by the General Secretary of NLC, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja and Comrade Nuhu Toro, the General Secretary of TUC, the strike is to start today.

All state councils are to comply with the directive and be assured of their commitment to the cause of workers.

Recall that the court had earlier ordered the NLC and TUC not to embark on a nationwide strike on Friday.
