The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress said the defeat of Dino Melaye, governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Kogi State gubernatorial election, will serve as a lesson to Governor Ademola Adeleke in 2026.

This was contained in a statement signed by the APC chairman of Osun state, Tajudeen Lawal, that Adeleke’s inability to deliver victory to Melaye despite serving as the campaign chairman is a sign that he is politically incapable of winning any election.

Lawal also said that Adeleke’s defeat in Kogi is a wake-up call for the people of Osun State, who should be prepared to vote him out of office in the 2026 governorship election.

“The Kogi State gubernatorial election results should serve as a metaphorical mirror for Adeleke, reflecting his political emptiness,

“With Melaye’s defeat, the outcome in Kogi State this year might mirror the scenario in Osun State’s 2026 governorship election.

“Currently, there is no escape for you, Adeleke, and your allies.

“My party, the APC, will use all constitutional means to dislodge you from office in the 2026 governorship elections,” he said.

The statement also said Adeleke manipulated his victory in Osun state during the governorship election with over 30 innocent APC members who lost their lives from PDP-related violence.

Lawal also urged Adeleke to distribute the Federal Government’s N9 billion fuel subsidy removal palliative to the people of Osun State immediately, warning that he will face resistance from the conscious members of society if he delays the distribution until the first anniversary of his administration in a few days.
