Nigeria Formally Returns To Old National Anthem

The bill seeking to return Nigeria to the old National anthem after passing the first and second readings has been signed into law by President Bola Tinubu.

Making the development known after the joint plenary today Thursday, the Speaker of the House, Godswill Akpabio said ‘Nigeria We Hail Thee’ composed by Lilian Jean Williams is now the current anthem recognized.

This old anthem takes effect immediately replacing the ‘Arise O Compatriots’ that was composed during the military regime.
