National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, NAPPS, Oshimili South chapter, has pledged its support to Delta State Government on the move to shutdown any unregistered primary school in a 21-day ultimatum given to private schools to regularize their operations.

Chairman NAPPS, Oshimili south chapter, Comrade Samson Ekene, who made the pledge while speaking with newsmen, commended the initiative by the Commissioner for Primary School Education, Kingsley Ashibugwu, for issuing the notice, describing it as a necessary step towards sanitizing the private education sector.

Ekene on behalf of the group called for greater involvement in the implementation of the policy to ensure transparency and effectiveness at the grassroots level.

The group raised concerns about potential sabotage at the local government levels noting that past experiences have shown that some field officers turn such policies into money-making ventures, shielding non-compliant schools in exchange for unofficial payments and misreporting to the government.
