The 59-year-old CEO of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has opened up on how he feels about the present performance of the Super Eagles under coach Jose Peseiro and how sports is gradually fading away in the education curriculum.

Onyema made claims during an interview with Nigeria Punch that during his time in secondary school his team would have beaten the Super Eagles.

The CEO of Air Peace was saying this following the performance of the Super Eagles’ four victories out of their nine matches which made dem to lose the remaining five under the management of Peseiro.

He was quoted saying the national football team cannot withstand the strength of secondary school teams of the 70s and 80s.

“Those days used to be very tough. Secondary school games in those days used to be tough. I remember when I played for Government College, Ughelli, they even killed one of our school boys in Agbarho (Delta State). It used to be tough in those days.

“Let me tell you, secondary school teams in the 70s will beat our national team of today. The present national team will be nowhere near the secondary school teams of yesteryear. I’m not talking about clubs, those days, secondary school teams were unlike these days.”
