The government of Anambra State has given a new order on Thursday that residents of the state will no longer bow to any unauthorized group or individuals giving them orders to sit at home.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo made this known in Akwa the state capital through his spokesman, Christian Aburime.

According to the spokesperson, the governor came to this decision after the splinted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Simon Ekpa gave an order for a one-week sit-at-home.

Soludo said the main IPOB, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had made it clear times without number that they are not the ones behind this sit at home, they only do days when Nnamdi Kanu would appear in court.

The statement reads, “Such directives should be completely ignored by the citizens of Anambra and by extension the entire Southeast.

“As for the imposition of sit-at-home orders by unauthorized individuals or groups, this is a clear violation of the law. Anambra State will never observe any sit-at-home order.

“Our markets, schools, businesses and other social activities will remain open. Anambra State will never be a breeding ground for anarchy, fear or lawlessness.”
