Minister Of Petroleum Resources Seek Ways To Resolve Dangote and NNPCL Tussle

The uproar between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and the Leadership of the Dangote Group of companies seems to be having a brighter light after a meeting was convened yesterday between both parties.

Aliko Dangote the CEO of Dangote Refinery has expressed his bitterness towards the NNPCL accusing him of being a monopolist and how his friend told him not to invest in Nigeria.

To bring both parties to the same table after the NMDPRA brought up issues of licencing and said Dangote Refinery diesel was below international standards, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, convened stakeholders of oil sectors and Dangote to resolve the issue.

The meeting which was held on Monday, 22, 2024 in Abuja, had Aliko Dangote, Chairman/CEO of Dangote Group, and Farouk Ahmed, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority CEO (NMDPRA), in attendance.

Others were Gbenga Komolafe, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission chief executive and Mele Kyari, GCEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

According to the minister, the meeting is to find a lasting solution to the current crisis affecting the Dangote refinery while those in attendance expressed gratitude to the minister for his leadership style.
