Lakurawa Terrorist Group Flushed Out of Nigeria, Kebbi Senator

The Senator representing Kebbi Central, Adamu Aliero, has given a fresh air of relief to residents in the North-West, stating that the Lakurawa terrorist group has been chased from Nigeria to the Niger Republic.

A few weeks back, an alarm was raised by the Nigerian military that a new terrorist group was trying to invade and cause havoc in the country but contrary to the claims that Lakurawa was a new terrorist group, it was said to have been in existence since 2018.

Relating the information on Friday in a statement to pressmen, Sen. Aliero said it was through the intervention of Abubakar Badaru, Chief of Defence Staff, and other critical stakeholders that the terrorist group was chased out on Tuesday.

According to Aliero, since the troops could not go beyond Nigeria’s borders based on international boundaries, it is now left to the military at home and the Nigerien military to work cooperatively to eliminate the insurgent group.
