Gunshots and tear gas have engulfed the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex in Port Harcourt.

The rain of chaos on the complex Monday morning in the city of Port Harcourt began when some lawmakers started the impeachment process of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The lawmakers including Speaker Martin Amaewhule who presided over the sitting, began the process.

Leader of the House, Edison Ehie, and some other lawmakers who are loyalists of the governor were also suspended.

It will be recalled that a fire had on Sunday night razed the assembly complex from an explosive thrown into the building.
