Judgment Served: Gospel Singer Sentenced to Death by Hanging

After months of reviewing the case of Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a supposed gospel singer who murdered his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu, in cold blood, he has been sentenced to death by hanging.

The judgment against Ajayi was passed on Thursday by a High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa, by Justice Simon Aboki.

The judge stated that the prosecuting counsel proved their case beyond a reasonable doubt that the 31-year-old convict killed his 24-year-old girlfriend at his residence.

The judgment noted that Ajayi claimed to be unconscious after having a good time with his girlfriend and was unconscious when he wrote his confessional statement; however, that did not hold any weight, as such a penalty is punishable by death.
