GunShot Charm Goes Wrong In Bauchi, Man Dies

One Muhammadu Ali a 43-year-old resident of Damaiwa village in Bursali ward in Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has been shot to death while a gun charm was being tested on him by a native doctor.

Ali had gone to Damaiwa bush with the native doctor and four other persons to test the efficacy of the supposed charm that would protect him against gunshots but died in the process.

In a statement made available to press men on Tuesday, the Public Relations Officer in Bauchi State Police Command, Ahmed Wakil, said police rushed to the scene when they got the information and rushed the victim to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The statement says the native doctor Danladi Ya’u, 28 years and three others who are on the run shot Ali with a locally made gun.

According to the PPRO, two of the suspects were immediately arrested while efforts were being made to arrest the fleeing accomplices.

Wakil said an investigation is ongoing, after which the defendants will be charged in court.
