Government seals up hotel in Delta over kidnapping

The chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, Prince Godwin Ogorugba has sealed up, Century Home, a hotel along Ozoro road in Owhelogbo, following an alleged kidnapping, murder and other criminal activities.
It was gathered that the council chairman, accompanied by security agents stormed the hotel following a tip off that an indigene based in Lagos State whose name was given as Sunday Ogofotha was kidnapped and killed in the hotel.
Community sources told Crown FM that the deceased had travelled from Lagos on Friday last week and lodged in the hotel to attend a brother’s funeral in the community on Saturday, but he was killed on Friday night.
According to another source, a wife to the alleged serial killer who made confession to the community, narrated how the home is a den of kidnapping, ritual and other criminal activities take place there. Last year, a girl, a POS operator opposite the hotel was killed in same circumstances.
The council boss expressed his deep regret over the unfortunate event even as he emphasised the serious nature of criminal activities in the area and explained the rationale behind the recent curfew imposed in the local government for public safety.
Meanwhile, as of the time of filing this report, the corpse has been deposited in the mortuary in Ozoro, headquarters of the council.
Efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe failed.
