Nigeria’s First Lady Flag-off Presentation of 10,000 Professional Kits to Midwives

The Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, through its health programme has presented 10,000 professional kits being Crocs and Scrubs to midwives in each geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
National Chairman RHI, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who made the presentation for the South-South Zone with Delta State being the chief host, noted that the gesture was to compliment the Federal Government’s ongoing retraining exercise of one hundred and twenty thousand front line health workers nationwide through the support of an anonymous global partner dedicated to improving health outcomes for the citizens with a specific focus of reducing infant and maternal mortality and morbidity in the country.
Tinubu disclosed that with 60,470 health workers completing their training, RHI chose to provide Sixty thousand branded Scrubs and sixty thousand pair of crocs as an incentive to encourage the dedication of the midwives.
In the spirit of giving and supporting, RHI gave an additional grant of 50m to the 1st lady of Delta State and RHI coordinator for another set of 1000 women petty traders with the sum of 50k each to recapitalize their existing businesses having earlier empowered 1000 women petty traders in August.
Tinubu further disclosed that RHI in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and food security, has given each state and the FCT the sum of 68.9m to scale up the participation of women and young people in agriculture as a means of achieving the national food security target and to help better the lives of families across the nation.
