There was mild drama on Wednesday at the Abuja residence of the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, laid siege to arrest Bello.

An EFCC source said they have been around Bello’s residence waiting for his arrest and arraignment before the Federal High Court on Thursday on charges of corruption.

The source claimed that when they laid siege to the ex-governor’s apartment, Governor Usman Ododo the present governor of Kogi State came in and whisked his principal away.

However, before the incident, there had been a conflicting order from the court on Wednesday.

The State High Court in Kogi restrained the EFCC from arresting the former governor of the State as Justice I.A Jamil said it was an infringement of his human rights.
