The anti LGBTQ bill passed by the 275 members of the Ghana lawmakers to punish anyone found in the act to six or three in prison or persons promoting LGBT to three or five years in prison still awaits the signature of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Controversies have followed the bill both from the LGBT community and international bodies.

Speaking on the issue, the senior pastor of Holy Hill Chapel, Assemblies of God, Rev.Dr. Kwadwo Boateng Bempah has raised concern over the delay of President Akufo-Addo in signing the bill after parliament has unanimously approved the bill.

Boateng said it is not about politics but this is their life and it shows in the decision of the parliament.

The Rev roared that the parliament is there to work for the people and during the voting process, no MP member raised their hand to counter the vote.

However with the law in place if the President refuses to append his signature to the bill a two-thirds majority of the parliament can enforce the bill with provisions of the law.
