FG Approve Free Cesarean Section For All Nigeria Pregnant Women

To reduce the death rates of mother and child delivery, the Federal government, through the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Pate, announced a turnaround in the health sector for all Nigerian women to undergo a free Cesarean Section.

It was made known during the three-day Nigeria Health Sector–Wide Joint Annual Review in Abuja, that the initiative was launched to reduce the death rate of newborns and mothers across Nigeria and reduce the financial burden on families.

The Minister emphasized that no woman should die while bringing another life into the world because of financial constraints.

This new scheme is for all poor and vulnerable women who meet the criteria whether it be a private or public health care where the operation will be conducted as it is under the National Health Insurance Authority
