The President of Ghana, Nana Akfuo-Addo, whose tenure will expire in 2025 after a two-year tenure rule, had faced a fresh backlash from Ghanaians over a personal statue erected at a hospital in the Western part of the country.
The minister of the Western Region, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, on Wednesday, during a Thank You Tour at Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, where the statue was erected, said it is to honor the legacy of the President.
Condemning the act as self-glorification and an unnecessary move, opposition party member Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah said the people of the Western Region deserve more than just an ordinary statue.
Despite various criticisms on social media about Akfuo-Addo’s poor performance in the country, others stand to believe and praise his hard work in Ghana.
