FCMB appoints Yemisi Edun as Acting Managing Director

The Management of First City Monument Bank has appointed Yemisi Edun as the Acting Managing director of the bank.

According to reports, the bank made this decision on Wednesday in a board meeting following the voluntary leave taken by Adam Nuru, the Managing Director to ensure sanctity in the investigation of his alleged unprofessional extra-marital affair.

Yemisi Edun, until her recent appointment was the immediate past Chief Financial Officer of the bank, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the Obafemi Awolowo University, a Master’s degree in International Accounting and Finance from the University of Liverpool,UK.

Mrs Edun will be the fourth female CEO of a commercial bank, following Fidelity Bank, Unity Bank, and Citi Bank.

However, the Bank in a tweet on Wednesday clarified that Yemisi Edun has not been appointed as substantive Managing Director.
