Edo Police Arrest Woman For Self-Kidnap To Defraud Company

A staff of a private company in Benin, Blessing Ogunu has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command alongside her accomplices for masterminding her kidnap to defraud Bliss Legacy Limited.

On 23 March 2024, one Samuel Prince Omomuzo of No 102, Ihama Road, Benin City reported to the anti-kidnapping and cybercrime unit of the command that a staff of their company had been kidnapped.

On the line of investigation by the force, it was discovered that the kidnappers made a demand of four million eight hundred thousand naira for the release of Blessing Ogunu.

With credible information on Monday, April 15, Blessing was arrested alongside Esther Anthony and Ukpebor Joel.

Blessing confessed that the kidnap was mastermind by her after the company she works for, Bliss, collected payment from a customer and refused to allocate the land.

According to the Edo command investigation is ongoing and soon Blessing and her hand will appear in court.
