Man Killed Aged Mother In Akwa-Ibom, Blame It On Forces

A suspect identified as Inyangake James Peter has been paraded by the Akwa-Ibom State police for killing his 70-year-old mother, Mma-Offiong James Peter at her residence.

40-year-old Inyangake on April 4, 2024, at about 9:00 am said he was operating with an inner voice that instructed him to kill his aged mother who was residing at Etim Ekpo LGA of the state.

A statement by the police command Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, on Monday said the suspect was arrested at Ikpe Annang Village in Etim Ekpo LGA.

According to the police, during interrogation, Inyangake confessed that the voice had been in his head pushing him to kill his mother and finally obliged it.

He has however been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department, CID for proper interrogation.
